Patrick developed his passion for quality beer during his college years at University of North Carolina where he received a degree in Philosophy. While in college he had the opportunity to study abroad. His travels took him to Prague, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Ireland and Hungary. His travels fueled his passion for quality beer. Upon returning to the Midwest he worked at Bar on Buena and then joined the WCD team in the summer of 2009.
